Mr. Bame was my band director (as he was for many others). . . .from 4th grade thru 12th as well as a neighbor on Jefferson Avenue. I loved being in band as he was a wonderful and kind person / teacher / friend / mentor. I was in Canada when I heard the news. . .the memories came flooding back. . .all the great times in band, band trips, football games, parades and more. He was awesome when it came to Halloween and his creative decorations on his porch to welcome the 'trick or treaters'. Mrs. Bame, Paul, Bill and Carol and their families are all in my prayers. Heaven is definitely singing along to whatever tune he is playing. Thank you Mr. Bame for being my band director.

Mr. BAME was a true gentleman and a wonderful teacher. He was a big part in his students' lives. I feel truly blessed to have had him as my band instructor from 4th grade through junior high and high school. He touched many lives and heaven is a little more melodic today! He will be missed!

What a wonderful opportunity Mr. Bame gave to his students. As an adult I use to think that my music education in Lewes was lacking. However, since becoming a parent of a instrument playing child I have learned that I was wrong. The amount of time that was given to the students was a life changer! I remember going to the Summer band camp then walking to my father's place of employment. What I know now is that because of that time it allowed the Jr. high to have a matching band. My time in band gives me found memories that I wish my daughter could have. My daughter is missing a marching band experience because her teacher don't invest in their students like Mr. Bame invested in his students.
I am sorry for your loss but know that we will see him again. My Gods love keep you in comfort and remind you of the good time you had together.

Norma . We had seen you and Davis at Walgreens so we knew he was ill but holding on. We had hoped his passing wouldn't be soon, but God knew when he should come to Him.
Davis taught band to all three of our kids and we so appreciated his patience, kindness,
and perseverance to help those with some difficulty. What a blessing he was to many,
many families in the Cape District. He won't be forgotten.

I still talk about the band trips to Wilmington, NC for the Azalea Festival Parades. I was
so proud of all of the band members. Thanks to Davis.

To Carol, Paul and Bill. You all knew your Dad loved you very much and he was very proud of all of you. Continue to live your lives in his memory and most of all... Be there
for your Mom.

Mr. Bame was a gem, a gentleman, and a unforgettable teacher. I wasn't the best musician in his class, but he made me feel like there was always a seat for me. The fond memories I have of this amazing man and his kind family are precious to me. God bless the Bame family during their time of loss. Rest in peace, my favorite teacher.
