Davis Goodman Bame's Obituary
Davis Goodman Bame, age 90, of Lewes, DE, passed away at home on Friday, June 24, 2016. He was born on August, 31, 1925, son of the late Samuel and Stella (Davis) Bame.
Mr. Bame moved to Lewes in 1960 from Georgia. He became a Band Director at Lewes High School and Cape Henlopen Middle and High school for 35 years, where he composed and arranged the Cape Henlopen Alma Mater. He retired in 1985. Mr. Bame proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In his spare time, he loved gardening, especially his day lillies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, teacher and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Bame is survived by his loving wife, Norma Bame; one daughter, Carol Heimbach of Georgetown, DE; two sons: Paul Bame of Philadelphia, PA and William Bame of Baltimore, MD; and four grandchildren: Thomas and Aaron Heimbach and Yael and Shani Bame.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at 10:00 AM at Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 9:00 AM.
Friends may also visit on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Bame's name to The Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or to the Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Hwy, Lewes, DE 19958.
