David R. Williams' Obituary
David Robert Williams, age 76, of Greenwood Delaware was called home into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, February 26, 2021. He was born on December 26, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late David Williams and Alice Arnesen. He was married to the love of his life Victoria Williams for 29 years.
Early in his adulthood, David proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later worked at and retired from the NYC Transit Authority. After retirement he worked as the Director of Transit for the City of Roswell, NM. Most recently he worked for New Flyer bus manufacturing company.
David was known to love spending time with his family. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Gateway Striper Club of NY. He was also an active member of Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown, DE.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Eddy; his sisters: Audrey (Edward, or Pal) Reilly, and Pat (Jim Scully;) and his nephew, Kenny Reilly. David is survived by his beloved wife, Victoria Williams; his 3 children: Cathy, John, and Mary Williams; his 3 grandchildren: Samantha and Melissa Osorio, and Olivia Rivera; his nephews and niece: Robert, Ronald (Amparo), Brian (Jeannie), Debra (Ray), Gary (Tiffany) and Kevin.
A special acknowledgment to his son -in-law Julio,nieces Nydia and Rose whom he loved dearly, and former wife Joyce Williams.
David will be greatly missed, but adoringly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
A Celebration of David’s Life will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, DE, phone number: (302)-629-0111, with visitation at 10:00 am and service at 11:00 am.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing protocols must be observed and masks must be worn by everyone participating in any aspect of the service.
Graveside services with military honors will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.
