David Charles Snyder Sr.'s Obituary
David Charles Snyder Sr., age 98 3/4 years old — as he happily reminded everyone while counting the days — passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, at Excelcare in Lewes. Born on July 27, 1927, in Onondoaga, New York, Mr. Snyder was the son of the late Walter Edwin Snyder and Alice (Becker) Snyder. He lived a long life built on hard work, strong values, and deep love for his family.
Mr. Snyder spent most of his life as a farmer and took great pride in working outdoors. Over the years, he also worked as a cab driver, maintenance man, and carpenter. To those who knew him, there seemed to be nothing he couldn’t fix, build, or figure out. Mr. Snyder was a man of many talents, always willing to lend a hand and share his knowledge.
Above all else, Mr. Snyder loved his family. His greatest joy came from the time spent with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Snyder's presence, stories, work ethic, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Snyder is survived by his children: Edwin Snyder; John Snyder Sr. (Kathleen); David Snyder Jr. (Laura); Mary (Snyder) Cummings; Janice (Snyder) McCarthy (Charles); Michael Snyder (Laura); Paul Snyder (Dawn); Tim Snyder (Crystal); Joseph Snyder Sr. (Annie); and Mark Snyder Sr. (Kimberly).
