David Clark Sheldon's Obituary
David Clark Sheldon, age 50, of Oak Orchard, DE, passed away after a short illness at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. He was surrounded by his loving family.
David, born August 26, 1960 in Wilmington DE, graduated from Claymont High School in 1978 and attended James Madison University where he studied Hotel Business Management. During the summer, his employment with Sheraton properties, he was recognized with the `Bellman of the Year' award. David relocated to Lewes, Delaware where he met and married his wife Joan Carol Kullman.
David made many friends during his years of employment with Millman's Hardware and Millman's Appliance. He was an avid chess player and enjoyed engaging people with his smile and witty personality. David never met a stranger he did not like.
David is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Joan C. Sheldon; his mother Carol A. Sheldon of Lewes, DE; his sister Cathy Trethewey and her husband Bruce of Finksburg, MD; his nephews: Matthew and Michael Trethewey; his niece, Brittany Sheldon; and great nephew Drake of Angola, DE. David will be missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Clark "Pete" Sheldon and his brother William "Billy" Sheldon of Lewes, DE.
The family is holding a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Conley's Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 22150 Robinsonville Road, Lewes, DE 19958, Rev. Michael Hurley.
