David William Parsons' Obituary
David William Parsons, age 70, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Born on May 13, 1954, in Philadelphia, PA, David grew up in Philadelphia, where he developed a love for the outdoors and a strong work ethic that would define his life.
David was a skilled carpenter, working for Ranalli & Joyce in Claymont for many years. He took great pride in building houses and working with his hands. His passion for craftsmanship was matched only by his love for the outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature.
Above all, David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He shared 29 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Dawn Marie Parsons, and together they raised a son, David Parsons Jr. He was a proud grandfather to his namesake, David Parsons III. David’s love for his family was unwavering, and he was always there to lend a helping hand, offering support to those in need with a kind heart and a generous spirit. Known for his good humor, infectious laugh, and positive attitude, he was a man who brought joy to everyone around him.
Just three weeks before his passing, David made the decision to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ at the First Baptist Church of Lewes, a step that brought him peace and comfort in his final days.
David is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dawn Marie Parsons; his son, David Parsons Jr.; his grandson, David Parsons III; his brothers, George, and Billy Parsons; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Donald Parsons, and his sister, Christine.
David will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and service to others will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Lewes, 1001 Kings Hwy, Lewes, DE 19958.
