David George Hopper's Obituary
David George Hopper, age 50, of Georgetown, DE, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, DE. He was born in Milford, DE on August 11, 1963, son of William Ivan and Betty Louise (Lauer) Hopper also of Georgetown.
Mr. Hopper was a lifelong resident of Georgetown. Early in his career, his passion for driving led him to various over the road and local truck driving jobs. He enjoyed dirt track racing and often could be found taking in a race locally in Georgetown and Delmar.
He was preceded in death by his brother Billy Hopper II, his maternal grandparents, George and Edith Lauer and his paternal grandparents, Ivan and Adeline Hopper. Mr. Hopper is survived by his parents William of MacClenny, FL and Betty Hopper of Georgetown, DE; a brother; Timmy Hopper and wife Michelle of Bridgeville, DE; two nephews: Tim Gordon and Bill Lancaster; two nieces, Jaime Gordon and Mandie Lancaster; a great nephew, Kaden and two great nieces, Brooklyn and Jacey.
Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2013 at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE 19933 where friends may visit beginning at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at McColley's Church Cemetery, Redden Road, Georgetown, DE 19947.
