David M. Dermer's Obituary
David M. Dermer, age 51, of Rehoboth Beach, DE died Monday, September 11, 2006, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE. Mr. Dermer was born & raised in Brooklyn, NY. He attended high school and college in Liberty, NY, after which he went to Fort Lauderdale, FL where he managed the Lauderdale Beach Club. He then relocated to Washington, DC where he owned and operated a fish market for several years, and later moved to Ithaca, NY where he worked in the food industry for several more years. There, Mr. Dermer became the the Vice President of the Finger Lakes Group, a food brokerage company, and remained in that position until 1999 when he retired due to a severe disability. He and his wife Bonnie & son Alex moved from Binghamton, NY to their present residence near Rehoboth Beach, DE in June of this year.
Mr. Dermer was an avid fisherman, loved the beach and this area, and was an awsome cook. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his love of life and his devotion to his wife and son.
Mr. Dermer was the son of Milton Dermer and Ada (Moskowitz) Dermer of Liberty, NY. He is survived by his wife Bonnie B. (Boice) Dermer; one son-Alex Dermer of Rehoboth Beach, DE; a sister-Jean Dermer & friend Chris of Monticello, NY; a brother-Irving Dermer & wife Sarabeth of Stem, NC; his adored niece and nephews: Shawna, Ben and Bobby; and 2 very dear friends: Doug and Elaine Greenlief of Myrtle Beach, NC. All services will be private. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary, P.O. Box 430, Nassau, DE 19969.
