David Porter Curlett's Obituary
David Porter Curlett, age 85, of Bridgeville died Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. Mr. Curlett was born on July 9, 1920, in Wilmington, son of the late Joseph Hunter and Ethel Caroline (Lyons) Curlett.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and had served on the submarine USS Pogy. Mr. Curlett retired in 1982 as a welder after 44 years with the DuPont Co., Seaford. He was an avid boater and was devoted to his family. Mr. Curlett was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Georgetown.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Mary (Holloway) Curlett; three sons: Lawrence Hunter Curlett of Easton, MD, Bruce Lee Curlett of Coatesville, PA, and Raymond Porter Curlett of Bridgeville; a daughter, Carol Jean Curlett-Cournoyer of Hooksett, NH; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 PM Friday in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour earlier. Burial will be in St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
