Pastor David Lewis Blackwelder died on Wednesday Jan. 13, 2010, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE, in the circle of love of his family: devoted wife Theda Draper Blackwelder, and children: Donna Vricella, Shelley Ann Jon Read Obituary
Mrs. Blackwelder, I am very sorry for your loss and the loss to your family. I happened upon this notice on April 22, 2010. I was fortunate to meet Mr. Blackwelder once and speak to him many years later via email. When I was much younger, your family, particularly Shelley, impacted my life in a very positive way. It is apparent that Mr. Blackwelder also affected many in the same way. My prayers are with you and your family.

David was a dear friend and fraternity brother of mine at Roanoke College. I will always remember his great sense of humor and dedication to the Lord. May God's perpetual light shine on him.
