I was looking up old Coast Guard friends and just saw this. My deepest condolences to his family. Darren and I were stationed together at CG Station St. Inigoes in the 80s. He knew his stuff on the boats and was a dependable crewman and worker. Lots of fun, upbeat, great sense of humor, always good company. I'm saddened by his passing so young.

Darren was a good friend to me, and especially during a very difficult time. He helped on our boat on many an occasion when we took her out into the Atlantic. He was kind hearted, sincere, had a sweet disposition, a twinkle in his eye and an engaging smile that lit up a room.
He will forever be in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he Rest In Peace and know he will be greatly missed.

wow we are stunned. We are so sorry for your loss; Great picture to remember him by; happy smiling face. We hope that all the happy moments are the ones you always remember whenever you think of him. Drugs have taken hold of many of good persons; this tragedy is everywhere I pray that the lord leads us to an answer to this horrific problem. May god help you all find peace.
