Darrell William Emery's Obituary
Darrell William Emery age 31 of Milton, DE, died peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Beebe Hospital, Lewes, DE, surrounded by his family. He was born September 27, 1979 in Washington, D.C., son of William Leo and Nancy (Webster) Emery.
Darrell grew up in Bethesda, MD, and attended Montgomery County Schools until 1996 when his family and he would move to Milton, DE. He attended Howard T. Ennis until June 7, 2001 at age 21 when he would graduate with his Record of Performance. Darrell participated in the Special Olympics Bowling and multiple programs at the Easter Seals, Georgetown, DE. He enjoyed music of all types, especially New Kids on the Block as well as B52’s. He also enjoyed arts and crafts in the family sun room, watching planes at Sussex County AirPort, and watching fire trucks with their lights and sirens. Darrell’s life was devoted to the people around him, He loved being around people and there was no doubt he would warm everyone’s heart in the room. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend who will be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Darrell is survived by his sister, Jennifer Emery Kropp and her husband Bryan of Perkasie, PA; his nephew, Nathan Kropp; and his grandmother, Dorothy Webster of Milton, DE.
A Celebration of Darrell's Life will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011, 11:00 AM at Rehoboth Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 20276 Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE, 19971, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Lewes Rehoboth Association of Churches (LRAC), c/o All Saints Church, 18 Olive Ave, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, Attn. Max Wolf.
