Darrell L. Clark's Obituary
Darrell L. Clark, age 80, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Jonesport, ME, on Sunday, July 14, 1929, son of the late Willie and Etta (Harmon) Clark.
A resident of Lewes for the past 18 years, Darrell and his wife are originally from New York, where he worked as a manager for IBM before retiring.
Throughout his life Darrell was a tinkerer, an artist, and master mechanic. A true "Jack of all Trades;" he was not afraid to tackle any project. He enjoyed playing golf, but especially loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and all that knew him.
Darrell proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1954. He was a member of the VFW Mason-Dixon Post #7234 of Ocean View, DE.
He is survived by his wife, Lena E. (Kelly) Clark; three daughters: Terry Clark and her husband Steve Weiss of Bohemia, NY, Debbie Moore of Valhalla, NY, and Colleen Clark and her husband Simon Whitney of Melbourne, Australia; two sons: Wayne Clark and his wife Lisa-Jane of Richmond, VA and Brian Clark and his wife Chrissy of Schenectady, NY'; four grandsons: Sam and Alex Whitney both of Melbourne, Australia and Sean and Aiden Clark both of Schenectady, NY; one granddaughter, Hanne Clark of Richmond, VA; and one brother, Alan Clark and his wife Maxine of Ellsworth, ME.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE, 19966 with full military honors. Family and friends are invited back to the house following the interment.
