Darlene Kay Goldsborough's Obituary
Darlene "Dar" Kay Goldsborough, age 64, of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2011, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE. She was born on August 15, 1946 in Lewistown, PA, daughter of the late Donald A. Barger and Gladys P. (Schmidt) Brown of Sparks, MD.
Mrs. Goldsborough graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational High School, Baltimore, MD as a Licensed Beautician. She was a homemaker who had a knack for interior decorating and was an excellent seamstress. She was all about family – from sandcastles at the beach to never missing a softball game. She loved baking with the grandchildren, sweets were her specialty; and without a doubt she was the true Matriarch of the family. Mrs. Goldsborough was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and godmother who was affectionately known as “Maw Maw.”
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Goldsborough is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bruce A. Goldsborough; two daughters: Dawn R. Mott and husband Gerry of Georgetown and Danielle M. Evans and husband Robert of Milton, DE; nine grandchildren: Nathan, Seth, Katie, Gerry III, Natalie, Hannah, Joab, Victoria and Robert Jr.; brother David Barger of Sparks, MD; sister Deborah Jean Taylor and husband Michael of Westminister, MD; godchildren and nephews Michael Taylor, Jr. and Matthew David Taylor; and grand-nephew Cole Charyszyn.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, 4:00 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 3:00 PM.
