Daniel Walter Driscoll's Obituary
Daniel Walter Driscoll, age 86 of Greenwood, DE, passed away after a brief illness, on Friday, October 7, 2022, at his home. He was born on May 30, 1936, in Scranton, PA, son of the late Henry and Ellen Driscoll.
Raised in New Castle, DE, Daniel enlisted in the US Army after high school and honorably served as a helicopter service mechanic while stationed in Germany. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Loved by many, he will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his daughter, Roswitha Metzler; his son, Karl Kapser; his siblings: George Driscoll, Allan Driscoll, Brenda Cane, and Jean Nichols. He is survived by his beloved wife Rita (Kapser) Driscoll; his son, Daniel Driscoll, daughter-in-law Catherine; his grandchildren: Sandra Toner, Andrew Driscoll, Robert Driscoll, Rachel Driscoll, Rudi Metzler, Shane Kapser, Karl Kapser, and Heidi Kapser; his great-grandson, Aiden Toner; his brother, Robert Driscoll; and his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Daniel will be privately laid to rest at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Bear, Delaware.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Daniel’s memory to Vitas Hospice, 100 Commerce Drive, Suite 302, Newark, DE 19713.
