We celebrate the life of Cornelia Maria D'Emidio, affectionately known as Conni, who was born on November 2, 1959, in Kempten, Germany. Conni brought joy and kindness to all who knew her until her peaceful passing on July 1, 2024, in Newark, Delaware, from complications of a thirteen-year battle with stage 4 cancer. Those who loved her remember her resilience and grace throughout her life's challenges.
Conni's early life in Kempten instilled in her a love for beauty and a dedication to education. Her journey led her to earn a post-secondary certificate in Pedagogy, which reflected her commitment to learning and growth. Her professional endeavors were marked by her roles as the executive assistant to the president of Levi's and the vice president of SAP America. Conni's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she founded Take Center Stage, a home staging company that helped many to realize the potential of their living spaces.
Her life was rich with varied interests, from the poise of ballroom dancing to the thrill of Kartenspielen. Conni was a voracious reader, whose imagination was kindled by the pages of countless books. Her eye for beauty extended to her passion for decorating, transforming any environment into a place of warmth and welcome. Conni’s generous heart found expression in her humanitarian aid work, helping to alleviate the struggles of the homeless and less fortunate.
Conni is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Michael D'Emidio of New York City, NY; son Daniel D'Emidio of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter Yuliya Hull and her husband Peter of Howell, NJ; beloved grandchildren Sasha and Tim; and siblings Petra Gleich of Ermengerst, Germany, and Bernhard Segger of Kempten, Germany.
