Corinne "Rennie" Malsbury's Obituary
Corinne “Rennie” Malsbury (née Brunner), age 85 of Lewes, DE, formerly of South Bethany Beach, DE and Hunterdon County, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2020 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE. Rennie was born on August 9, 1935 in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Albert L. and Jewell H. (Reach) Brunner. Raised in Union, NJ, she was a 1953 graduate of Union High School and a 1957 graduate of Beaver College (renamed Arcadia University in 2001) in Glenside, PA where she majored in Business Administration. She married Douglas B. Malsbury in 1958.
Hailing from a family that highly valued education, Rennie always made education a priority in raising her 3 children, sacrificing and working hard to ensure that all 3 were able to attend and graduate from college.
Having a lifetime love of the beach, Rennie and Doug retired to South Bethany Beach in 1993 and enjoyed traveling and taking cruises together—alone or with friends—with destinations including Alaska, Mexico, South America, Europe and Africa, as well as various destinations within the continental US. They also cruised the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. They became snowbirds and enjoyed spending winter months in Florida.
While at home Rennie enjoyed reading (especially history), researching family genealogy, collecting vintage fine china, pottery and collectibles and spending time with her family. In later years she rediscovered her passion for playing bridge and enjoyed socializing with new friends at the Moorings before her declining health and COVID restrictions made that impossible.
She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with a wicked sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, Rennie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Douglas B. Malsbury and her sister Marjorie Rea. She is survived by her sister, Joan Wilkinson of Tryon, NC and her 3 children: Jody Ann Malsbury of St. Petersburg, FL, David Malsbury and his wife Anne of Huddleston, VA, and Arleeta Clark and her husband Tommy of Spring Hill, FL; 5 grandchildren: Amanda Fenton, Drew Malsbury, Kathleen Fenton, Joanna Malsbury and Malissa Fenton; and 4 great grandchildren: Keyton Rice, Jeremiah Walker, Malcolm Walker and Declan Torrey.
Due to the COVID pandemic, memorial services will be announced at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Rennie's name to: The National Breast Cancer Foundation at
