Cleveland "Specks" Short's Obituary
Cleveland W. Short, "Specks," age 88, of Bridgeville, DE died on Saturday December 9, 2006 at Bay Health-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 88.
He was born on October 6, 1918, in Bridgeville, son of the late Harvey Short and Delema (Conaway) Short .
He was a Worl War II U.S. Army veteran. He retired as a dispatcher for the former Lester C. Newton Trucking Company after 45 years service. Mr. Short enjoyed traveling and all sports, especially NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Blanchard; a grandson, Kevin; and two great-grandchildren, Moriah and Noel.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice E. (WIlley) Short, a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Barbara of Bridgeville; a daughter and son-in-law Sharon L. and Richard Beauchamp of Bridgeville; two sisters. Jeanette Smith and Mildred Pusey both of Bridgeville; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 1 to 1:45 PM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville.
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2:00 PM at the Bridgeville Cemetery with The Rev. Dale Brown officiating.
