Clara Jane Kauffman's Obituary
Clara Jane (Rogers) Kauffman, age 93, of Georgetown and Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away Sunday, December 31, 2006, at Brandywine Assisted Living Facility, Rehoboth Beach, from heart-related problems. Mrs. Kauffman was born in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Charles Ross and Mary Parthenia (McJunkin) Rogers.
Mrs. Kauffman, spent most of her life living in Freeport, PA, and Bradenton, FL. Jane lived in Georgtown since the late 1970's where she was a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church. She was always active in supporting her local library, community activities and her church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Samuel J. Kauffman (1992); three sisters, Helen Garvin, Wilma Glenn, and Mary Margaret "Peg" Addy; and her brother, Charles Raymond Rogers.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen K. McCrea and her husband Gary of Georgetown; a son, Richard R. Kauffman and his wife Virginia of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren, Kimberly K. Bates of Colchester, CT, Brett A. McCrea of Georgetown, and Scot R. Kauffman of Amston, CT; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
All services are private. Mrs. Kauffman's remains will be teken to Butler County Memorial Park in western Pennsylvania where she will rest in peace with her late husband. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE 19947.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 1151 Walker Street, Suite 202, Dover, DE 19901 or to the Georgetown Public Library, 10 W. Pine Street, Georgetown, DE 19947.
