Christy Kaiser's Obituary
Christy Kaiser, 68, of Milford, Delaware, passed away on May 24, 2026, at Delaware Hospice — peacefully, on her own terms and in her own way, just as she had lived her life. Born on December 16, 1957, in Charleston, West Virginia, Christy lived a life defined by warmth, creativity, and devotion to those she held dear.
Christy spent her early years in Charleston before relocating to Maryland, first settling in Prince George’s County before making her way to North Beach, where she built a career as a Realtor with Generations III Realty and later worked with the Town of North Beach. She later made Milford, Delaware, her home for almost thirty years, a place she loved deeply. In Milford, she worked for many years at the Marvel Agency and later for Attilio’s Construction. A dedicated employee and hard worker, Christy had a gift for making everyone around her feel welcome — a quality that left a lasting impression on all who worked alongside her.
The beach and the Chesapeake Bay held a special place in Christy’s heart, as did her beloved cats, who were faithful companions throughout her life. She had a deep appreciation for the world around her — the cheerful face of a sunflower, the turning of the seasons, each one welcomed in its own way. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she embraced it with a joy and enthusiasm that were contagious to all around her. She was always the first to send flowers, a small but meaningful gesture that spoke volumes about her thoughtfulness.
Christy was never one to dwell on sadness. She met life with resilience and a forward-looking spirit, and those who loved her will remember her as fiercely independent, creative, and deeply considerate of others.
Christy did not live a perfect life, but she lived a life filled with compassion, hard work, love, and laughter. She was beautifully, imperfectly human, and it is precisely that which made her so easy to love.
Her family finds great comfort in knowing that, in the moment she passed from this world, she was not alone. Those who had gone before her — her son David, her parents, her sister, her grandparents, and all who loved her — were there to welcome her home and guide her gently across. She arrived in Heaven surrounded, as she deserved, by love.
Christy is survived by her beloved husband, James Kaiser of Milford, Delaware; her sister, Kelly Grube and her husband, David, and their family of Ocean View, Delaware; her nephews, Matthew and Michael; and her niece, Madison and her husband Denny.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Bell; her parents, Nancy and Lawrence Regelin; her grandparents, John and Helena Steele; her sister, Melissa Regelin-Sweetman; her aunt and uncle, Kathy and George Hope; and her uncle, Paul Steele.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kahn and the dedicated staff of the Bayhealth Sussex Campus Oncology Center for the extraordinary care they provided throughout Christy’s illness. They also offer their deepest thanks to the staff of 58 and Delaware Hospice for their compassionate and tender care during her final days.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Bridgeville Cemetery, Market and Laws Street, Bridgeville, Delaware.
