Christopher J. Smail's Obituary
Christopher J. Smail, age 18 of Lewes, DE died suddenly on Thursday, November 11, 2010 in a car accident on his way to college. He was born on June 12, 1992 in Pittsburgh, PA son of Karen Lynn Smail of Lewes.
Christopher was a 2010 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School, Lewes, and a freshman at Delaware Technical and Community College in Georgetown, DE majoring in biotechnology. He especially enjoyed working at the Lewes Library as an assistant and was known in the library as “Page Master." He was a voracious reader in his spare time and loved computers. He was very protective and loving of his mother and brother Connor C. Smail who survive him.
In addition to his mother and brother he is survived by his grandmother Sally Smail of Greensburg, PA; aunts and uncles, Molly Smail of Wilmington, DE, Harry Smail, Jr. and Rene of Greensburg, PA, Deborah and Bob Saltsman of Pottstown, PA, Sally Jane Guerrieri of Greensburg, PA and many cousins. He is also survived by close friends Niki Zaldivar, Rev. Pat Loughlin, Stacey Furman, Amy Grabowski, Laurie Kozbelt and his “Big Brother” Chip Thompson. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Harry Smail.
A Celebration of Christopher's Life will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Parsell Funeral Home and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE with the Rev. Patricia Loughlin officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-9 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
