Chia Fu "Chris" Min's Obituary
Chia Fu (Chris) Min of Bridgeville, Delaware passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026. Chris was born on January 25, 1938, in Nanjing, China, the son of the Chein Mei Min and Chi-yuan Sun.
Chris was a civil engineer and an information technologist. He held a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Taipei Institute of Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. He moved to the United States and became a citizen where he earned a Master of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware. He worked for various engineering firms in the United States as well as in Europe for over thirty years. He last worked at and retired from Foster Wheeler Corporation, Clinton, New Jersey in 1995.
He was happily married to his wife, Alice Hilbert du Bois Min, and they recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. After retiring they moved to Delaware to be close to family. Chris was active at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Bridgeville, Delaware. He served on the vestry and was the editor of the St. Mary’s newsletter for many years.
Chris was a loving and generous husband, father and grandfather. He was actively involved in his granddaughter’s life and never missed a dance recital or band concert. He loved nature and animals, especially birds and cats. He will be missed by all.
Chris is survived by his wife, Alice; his daughter, Annette Moody, and son-in-law, Christopher; his daughter, Faith Min; his granddaughter, Tessa Moody; his brother, Julian (Chia Lin) Min; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Audrey and Joseph Malfitano; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Ella du Bois; and many nieces and nephews. Chris was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Chia Yong Min and Chia Hwa Min.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 2 North William Street, Bridgeville, Delaware. Visitation will take place at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Bridgeville Cemetery, Market and Laws Street, Bridgeville, Delaware.
