Cheryl Lynn Rice's Obituary
Cheryl Lynn Rice, age 49, of Milton, DE, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009, at University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Ms. Rice was born October 26, 1959 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of Burton Rice and Sherma (Mazer) Rice.
Ms. Rice was employed by the State of Delaware as a Software Engineer, she was the Project Lead for the Office of Management and Budget. In 2008, she was designated "Employee of the Year" in recognition of her service and many contributions to the State. Cheryl was very much at home with information technology and she was a very creative individual. She loved the color red; enjoyed gardening, fishing, and the beach; and was a movie buff.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brothers, too many friends to count, and her cat, Simon.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 7:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE with Chaplain Keith Goheen officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803-0163 or to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 N. Halstead St., Chicago, IL 60642-2642.
