Charles "Chick" W. Bradford's Obituary
Charles “Chick” W. Bradford, III, age 63, of Harbeson, DE, formerly of Newport, DE passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015. He was born in Wilmington, DE on Friday, April 04, 1952, son of the late Charles W. and Florence Barbara (Ainsworth) Bradford, II.
Mr. Bradford was a graduate of Conrad High School. He enjoyed a longtime career in delivery services, 10 years with Herr’s, and 10 years with Schmidt's Bakery. Mr. Bradford was also employed 15 years with the General Motors Company before becoming the owner of Bradford's Store in Wilmington.
He was an artistic photographer who loved taking photos of Cape Henlopen State Park sunrises, sunsets, and wildlife. Mr. Bradford enjoyed riding his Harley and loved VW busses. He was also a lifelong Phillies fan and acquired a taste for NASCAR after moving to Lower Slower Delaware, His greatest love was his family. Mr. Bradford loved cooking large Sunday breakfasts for his family and was happiest spending time with each one. He was the world’s leading pancake expert.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bradford was preceded in death by his step-father, George J. Bateman, Jr. He is survived by his fiancé Lois Szymanski; a daughter, Jennifer L. Bradford and her husband Mohammed, three sons, Charles W. Bradford IV and his wife Kristy, Joseph P. Bradford and Adam Michael Bradford, three step-sons, Nicholas S. Tumilty, Eugene Marple and William Marple, seven grandchildren, Ali, Kaelan, Karagh, Abdel Haleem, Charles “Charlie” W Bradford V, Eliza and Mariam and three sisters, Victoria E. Pragg, Rebeccah L. Crouse and her husband Jerry and Janice M. Hall and her husband Kevin.
All services will be private.
