Charles Alan Smith's Obituary
Charles Alan Smith age 52 of Georgetown, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, June 21, 2010, at Bayhealth, Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford, DE.
Born on Wednesday, January 1, 1958 in Washington, DC. he was the son of Jacob Smith and the late Jean (Smith) Smith. In addition to his mother, Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Timothy Smith and John Jacob Smith, both of Washington DC , one sister, Patricia Ann Smith of Ocean View, DE and one sister-in-law, Sherry Smith of Bowie, MD.
Originally from Washington, DC, "Charlie" was a resident of Georgetown, DE for the past three years, making great friends with his three roommates, Danny, Eric and Richard. He was a roofer by trade and when not working, he loved driving his car, writing and listening to music, golfing, fishing and was interested in all sports.
In addition to his father, Jacob P. Smith of Dagsboro, he is survived by four brothers, Michael P. Smith and Jeffery W. Smith and his wife Tracey, all of Bowie, MD, Jacob W. Smith and Ricardo Tayes, both of Washington, DC, five sisters, Sheila D. Peaper and her husband Robert of Marbury, MD, Jean M. Smith of Ocean View, DE, Rita J. Smith of Alexandria, VA, Tina Marcy and her husband Glen of Wake Forest, NC and Rose M. Huff and her husband Donald of Whites Plaines, MD. Charlie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A Memorial service will be held on THURSDAY, JULY 1, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Clarksville Chapel, 34874 Atlantic Avenue, Ocean View, DE 19970. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Interment private.
