Charles Lee Rohrer Sr.'s Obituary
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of a great man, our loving father Charles Lee Rohrer, Sr. (Chas). 89, of Millville, Delaware, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, March 13th.
Chas was born September 10, 1934, to the late Harry C. Rohrer Sr. and Laura Rohrer (Franks) from Wilmington, Delaware. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles L. Rohrer Jr.; his wife Jeanette Rohrer (Warren); his granddaughter, Sarah J. Rohrer Cline; as well as his siblings: Harry Rohrer Jr., Mildred Ennis, Laura Fetters, Gladys Davis, Jane Kauzan, and Jamsie Rohrer.
He left behind his daughter Kim Oetting (Dan) of Elkton, MD., his daughter Brenda L. Tomme of Newark, Delaware, his daughter Judy Rohrer who lived at home, his son Stephen L. Rohrer (Kelly) Georgia. Grandchildren: Justina M. Attix, Joshua C. Rohrer (Stacey), Chris Rohrer (Alison), Mike Rohrer, Steve Rohrer Jr., Faith Hutchins (Kenny), Jessica Williams, Joe Williams. Great grandchildren: Chloe Attix, Cayden Attix, Bristol Rohrer, and Blakely Rohrer. Brothers: Jerry Rohrer, Joey Rohrer, Wayne Rohrer (Cathy), John Rohrer, and many nieces and nephews.
Chas worked and retired from Chrysler Corp. in Newark, Delaware. He was very outgoing and loved taking his family to the beach, fishing, crabbing, and having campfires. God and his family were his two biggest passions in life. He wanted to make sure he showed the love of Christ and let everyone he met know Jesus as our Savior. He loved his church family at Bethel Methodist in Dagsboro, Delaware.
Dad was a comedian and wanted to make people laugh, but most of all love them and made sure everyone felt loved. He was there for anyone that needed him no matter the distance, he was there. He loved cooking, especially for his grandchildren. Their favorite was breakfast, homefries and fruit salad. He loved eating especially Grotto's cheesesteak and any kind of sweets he could put his hands on! He was the best dad and grandfather anyone could ask for, he loved you unconditionally. He will be greatly missed and loved forever. There is one thing we know he heard while walking through those pearly gates, and it was “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
Until we meet again, go rest high on that mountain, dad your work on earth is done.
We love you always,
Your children.
