Charles P. Kelly's Obituary
Charles P. Kelly, age 88, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023, at TidalHealth Nanticoke. He was born in Powellville, MD, on September 17, 1935, son of the late Henry Preston and Gladys Ruth (Collins) Kelly.
Mr. Kelly answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the US Army. After his honorable discharge, he started his career with A&P grocery store company where he retired as Dairy Manager after 40 dedicated years. Never one to stay idle, Mr. Kelly remained active working for such companies as Callaway Farnell and Moore Real Estate as a realtor, and Harrington Raceway & Casino.
The town of Bridgeville remained the place he called home in his heart and was devoted to it. He was the oldest living member of the Bridgeville Lions Club and was always active in his community. His many hobbies included singing and watching westerns on TV. Spending time with his friends and family was what he cherished above all. Mr. Kelly was a loving and devoted brother, uncle, and friend. He will be dearly missed and forever loved by all the lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 36 years, Rosalie Ryan Kelly. He is survived by his sisters: Lois Mitchell of Delmar, DE, Sandra Mucho of Shady Spring, WV, and Linda Kelly of Salisbury, MD; and several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium ,Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in Mr. Kelly's memory to the Bridgeville Lions Club, P.O. Box 414, Bridgeville, DE 19933.
