Charles W.A. Mohacey Jr.'s Obituary
Charles (Chuck) Mohacey, Jr. of Lewes, DE passed away on May 22nd at Brandywine Living. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he graduated from Germantown Academy High School in Philadelphia. He then went on to La Salle College where he swam on a full scholarship for two years. Chuck then entered the Coast Guard in 1953 and was stationed in Lewes, DE. He was honorably discharged in 1961. On November 19, 1954 he married the love of his life Mary Ann Smith and they spent 64 wonderful years together as husband and wife . They lived in Lewes as newlyweds then returned to the Philadelphia area for most of their married life. He retired from the Philadelphia Gas Works and they returned to Lewes where they lived for twenty years.
Chuck is survived by his devoted sister Sandra McGorrey and was a loving father to his sons Charles III, Peter, and Paul (Susan), adored grandfather of Jason (Nicole), Megan Powers (Sean), Matthew and Hannah, and cherished great grandfather of Ava, Hunter, Adison, LoLa, Hazel and Ronan.
Chuck had many hobbies including sailing, tennis, archery, hunting and fishing. He had a great love and devotion for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In addition, he was very active in the Masonic Lodge in Tacony, PA and the Jefferson Lodge in Lewes. Chuck was a man of faith and an active member of the Lewes Presbyterian Church. Chuck will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all the many lives he touched. He is ecstatic to be reunited with his sweetheart Mary Ann!
A celebration of his life will be announced when the pandemic restrictions are lifted.
