Charles O. Flynn's Obituary
Charles O. Flynn age 85, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was born in Washington, DC, on November 17, 1926, son of the late Daniel James and Margaret (Bell) Flynn.
Mr. Flynn was a Navy Veteran of WW II and worked as a Division Chief for the Naval Yard in Washington, DC following the war. He and his wife moved to Delaware in 1989. He enjoyed gardening and carpentry.
Mr. Flynn is survived by his wife, Peggy (Kinna) Flynn of Lewes; two daughters: Peggy Colleen Neske of Lewes and Susan Kae Mersman of Brandywine, MD; two granddaughters: Amy Marie Mersman and Stacey Nicole Hassler; and a grandson Edward Ross Mersman.
The family expresses their debt of gratitude to the Lewes & Rehoboth Station 3 Crew, Route 24, Lewes, for the many times they answered the call for assistance with Mr. Flynn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE; friends may call at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment with military honors will be private at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lewes Fire Department, Inc., PO Box 225, Lewes, DE 19958 or American Heart Association,200 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713, or American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803-016.
