I just found this obituary after receiving an Alumni enews from OSU with an In-Memorium page listing Charles' death in May. Chuck and I were classmates in EE at OSU for four years, both of us graduating with BSEEs in December, 1964. We roomed together for our last quarter, in a hot-in-September, freezing-in-December, 3rd floor apartment, anticipating graduation and life after OSU. He went on to more studies and I headed into the booming electronics business. We lost touch until one evening, 25 years later, now living in San Diego and working for Link A Bit Corp ( forerunner to Qualcomm), I received a call from Korea. It was Chuck calling to ask about some patents in semiconductor memory I was involved in and that Samsung was interested in.
We talked about OSU days, what the heck he was doing splitting his time between Korea and Washington, and what I was doing in California. We had a great conversation, got caught up for 25 missing years and said we'd stay in touch.
But we didn't speak again after that. Another promise that was impossible to keep with the lives we both were living.
My condolences to his wife. I do hope this gets to her, late as it is.
