David,

The two pictures I posted - he took the picture of Christina and me during a FAM trip we convinced him to go (and he brought you!) and that is when he fell in love with our city. I just loved the way he was so caring about taking pics and I am so sad but I can't find any pictures we took together.

The other just spoke to how he was the first to acknowledge his partner suppliers and be thankful. We loved Chuck and what impact he had on us, our community and Vancouver.

I am sorry I won't be there to honor Chuck on Saturday. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I will remember him as a kind, gentle, funny and tough guy. I remembered how hard he fought for Vancouver to host ISRI's Annual and how good he was to me, when I wasn't my best. I am forever grateful and please know I was inspired by the beautiful love you two had and prayed I would have it one day as well. I got lucky and found someone that I can envision laughing and loving like the way you two did for ever.

Chuck and David were always so welcoming to me and my family at CHUMC. My family was undergoing a lot of heartache and Chuck & David were simply kind. Except for the whole white-after-labor day struggle :)
I am missing Chuck's FB posts with laser accuracy and fair reporting and his kindness.
David, you have my full empathy and care .... losing a partner is no simple process. Peace to you and Grace for the days ahead.

I knew Chuck well growing up in Lancaster, SC. We had many classes together, played in the high school band together and served in many school and community committees and he was always a hard worker with a great sense of humor.
Unfortunately I lost touch with him until the age of facebook but he and I had a few email and message exchanges over the last few years that I always enjoyed.
His version of retirement seemed like a grand one and I'm sorry he passed so soon into retirement.

Chuck and David welcomed us with open arms at CHUMC when we moved from Atlanta in 1993. We were so happy he made time to have dinner with us in Charleston when here for work. His zest for life was abundant and his passion to do the right thing was paramount. It is so heartbreaking that he died when just beginning to have the most adventurous retirement. Deepest condolences to his entire family and all those whose lives he touched.
