Charles Ackley's Obituary
Charles W. Ackley, III, (Tucker) age 65, of Lewes, DE died Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes following a long illness.Tucker was active in the real estate business since 1962. His paternal great-grandfather, New Jersey Senator John A. Ackley, began their Real Estate career in Vineland, NJ in 1884. Tucker resided and worked in Vineland before moving to Lewes where he continued in Real Estate, ultimately joining the Remax Agency in Lewes.
Tucker had attended Vineland High School, the Bordentown Military Academy, and had served 4 years in the National Guard.
He was on the Advisory Board of Casa San Francisco and often helped with kitchen duties at Thanksgiving.
Tucker was pre-deceased by his mother Paula M. Atkins with whom he resided until her death, and his step-father Raymond R. Atkins.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Ruth Ackley of Vineland, NJ; Aunts and Uncles James & Norma McClain, Lewes, DE; Bette & Mickey Murphy, Cherry Hill, NJ; and William & Birute McClain, Charlotte, NC; a half-sister Hope Brolas of Williamstown, NJ; his extended family James & Judy Roberts, Lewes, DE, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Tucker will be sadly missed by his many friends.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday June 1, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Coolspring Cemetery, Harbeson, DE, where family and friends are welcome. Memorial contributions are suggested to Casa San Francisco, 127 Broad Street, Milton, DE 19968.
