Cecil Ray Wilcoxon's Obituary
Cecil Ray Wilcoxon, age 86 of Georgetown, DE passed away at Delaware Hospice on Saturday, April 13, 2024. He was born on January 28, 1938, son of the late Ralph and Lena (Irwin) Wilcoxon.
Mr. Wilcoxon grew up on a farm in the Grant, Iowa area as 1 of 7 children. The Midwest remained the area he loved and called home. Mr. Wilcoxon was a graduate of Kansas State University obtaining a bachelor’s degree in cereal chemistry. This is also where he met the love of his life, Mary. They were married 58 years. Mr. Wilcoxon worked for a number of companies throughout his career. He ended his career at Townsend Inc, in Millsboro, DE. After retiring, one of his favorite times was traveling to see the many sites in the United States. One of his favorite trips was driving to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. Mr. Wilcoxon will be dearly missed and forever loved by all the lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 3 siblings, a sister and 2 brothers. Mr. Wilcoxon is survived by his beloved wife, Mary A. Wilcoxon; his sons: Stephen and his wife Sheila Conway of Edina, MN, Richard and his wife Amy Wilcoxon of Bear, DE; his grandson, Christopher Wilcoxon; his siblings: Olie Anderson of Colorado, Don Wilcoxon of Florida, and Lora Massingill of Nebraska.
