Cecil Roscoe Johnson's Obituary
Cecil Roscoe Johnson, age 84 of Bridgeville, DE, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, after a long illness at TidalHealth Nanticoke Hospital, in Seaford, DE. He was born on August 22, 1938, in Asheville, NC, son of the late Solomon and Nora Bell Johnson.
Mr. Johnson built a career in the auto industry, working for the Chrysler Corporation as a welder and retiring as a supervisor after 22 dedicated years. He married Joyce Greer, the love of his life, at the Little Wedding Chapel in Elkton, MD, on December 23, 1985. Mr. Johnson had a love of music, particularly country, and one could often find him listening to the classics. He also enjoyed visiting flea markets, excited for unique finds and antique treasures. Above all, he cherished time spent with those he held most dear. Mr. Johnson was a loving and devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Loved by many, he will be genuinely missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Joyce E. Johnson of Bridgeville, DE; his children: Timothy Blevins of Wilmington, NC, Celia McCraney (Gary) of Kittrell, NC, Cynthia Olivera of Pennsville, NJ, and Marlene Pilcher of Shallotte, NC; his stepchildren: Becky Kuhns of Long Neck, DE, Mary Enos of Greensboro, MD, and Larry Chapman; and his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
