Cathryn Robinson's Obituary
Cathryn M. “Coppie” (Thompson) Robinson, age 95, of Ocean View, DE passed away peacefully in her home on February 24, 2022.
Born February 23, 1927, in Grosse Pointe, Michigan she was the daughter of the late Helen Dunton and Robert Thompson.
First and foremost, Coppie was a devoted wife to the late John L. Robinson with whom she spent 60 loving years. One of their passions was playing golf and those who know Coppie, know how proud she was to tell everyone about “her” Hole in One.
Coppie was an independent, strong, and intelligent woman who loved telling the same stories again and again with as much excitement as if she was telling it for the first time.
She was passionate about her faith and was a loyal member to St. Ann Catholic Church where she was often seen for Sunday Mass. In addition, Coppie was a member of the Southeastern Sussex Democratic Club. She adored hosting luncheons and spending time conversing with her friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Louis Robinson; and her sons, John Louis Robinson III and Michael Joseph Robinson. Coppie is survived by a daughter, Nancy Hovance of Ocean Pines, MD; eight grandchildren, Kenneth Hovance, Kristen Hovance (Brian), Keith Hovance (Catherine), Victoria Lynn Casto (Tyler), Joshua Logan Robinson, Nicholas M. Robinson, Joseph John Robinson (Yaneth), and Daniel Stanley Robinson; three great-grandchildren Tyler and Harper Hovance and Jonathan Robinson.
The family would like to thank Caregivers Laurie, Dana and Dana Purkey for their compassion, friendship, and excellent care they provided to their Gram over the past 3 years.
A private graveside service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 32112 Vines Creek Rd., Dagsboro, DE 19939.
