Catherine Pizzuto's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine "Cathy" Pizzuto on March 6, 2023 at Harrison House Senior Living Residence in Georgetown, DE. Cathy was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 7, 1946, daughter of the late Anthony (Toni) and Mary (Grasso) Pizzuto before they relocated to Georgetown, DE.
Cathy began her schooling at Georgetown Elementary before transferring to St. Edmond's School in Rehoboth Beach and completed her high school years at Georgetown High School, class of 1965. She married and had three children. Cathy enjoyed a lifelong career, working at Milford Hospital, retiring after 32 dedicated years. She was blessed with many friends as she was outgoing and friendly to everyone she met. Her last days were happier because of her visitors, specifically her loyal friends Doreen, and Paula. Cathy treasured time spent with those she held most dear, above all. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Loved by many, she will be deeply and genuinely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her parents, Cathy was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Anne Blakeney, and her oldest sister, Mary Rementer. She is survived by her children: Thomas (Tommy) Blakeney of Billings, Montana, and William (Billy) Blakeney of Ocean View, Delaware; her 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; her 3 sisters: Antionette (Toni) Hamlin (Julian) of Harrington, Delaware, Delores "Dee" Hembdt of Florida, and Nancy Buenrostro (Kathy) of Frankford, Delaware; her 3 nephews; 1 niece; and many more great-nieces and great-nephews.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Harrison Senior Living, 110 W. North Street, Georgetown, DE 19947, or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
