Catherine L. Lynch's Obituary
Catherine L. Lynch, age 80 of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. Born September 26, 1933 in Selbyville, DE., the daughter of the late William E. Daye and Mary (Morris) Pepper.
Ms. Lynch worked for several years at Lewes Historical Society Gift Shop and later at the Galaxy Bar and Grill in Ocean City, MD. For the remaining 11 years of Ms. Lynch's employment, she was a shining light at the Cape May Lewes Ferry Gift Shop before retiring in 2009.
She was a long time member of the Rehoboth Beach Country Club, where she enjoyed socializing with friends. Her other favorite past times included sight seeing, deer watching at Henlopen State Park (where she had the rare opportunity to see the white albino deer), and gambling a few dollars at the casinos. Well known as a wonderful baker whose many delicious desserts will be missed. Most of all, Catherine loved her family and cherished all moments spent with them. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a devoted friend who will be missed by all who knew and laughed with her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Lynch in 1992 and her son, Kevin Terry Lynch in 2009. She is survived by her two sons, David Lynch of Lewes, DE and Brian Lynch and his wife Michelle of Bridgeville, DE; her daughter, Cate Lynch of Lewes, DE; five grandchildren: Jessica, Josh, Zack, Clarke and Dylan; three great-grandchildren, Haley, Senna and Noah; and her beloved Kitty.
All services are private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Catherine's memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
