Catherine H. Dudas' Obituary
Catherine "Kate" H. Dudas, age 88 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020 at Brandywine Senior Living, in Rehoboth Beach. She was born on September 16, 1931 in Monessen, PA, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Zubal) Hornack.
Mrs. Dudas dedicated her life to education. She was an English teacher at Monessen High School in Pennsylvania for 10 years, retiring in 1984. Following her retirement from Monessen High School, Mrs. Dudas was a substitute teacher in various Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Florida school districts. She loved her career and the many lives she touched. Mrs. Dudas also owned a shoe store in Monessen. Above all, Mrs. Dudas cherished time spent with those she held most dear. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Dudas was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Dr. Thomas P. Dudas; and her brothers: Frank Hornack. Robert Hornack, and Melvin Hornack. She is survived by her sons: Dr. Thomas P. Dudas, Jr. of Lititz, PA and LCDR Michael Dudas, USN (Ret.) of Riverview, FL; her daughters: Mary Jo Coe of Lewes, DE and Lisa Bevan of Royerford, PA; her 9 grandchildren; her 1 great-grandchild; and her brothers: Ronald Hornack of Scottsdale, AZ and Thomas Hornack of Lower, Burrell, PA.
Services were private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Dudas' memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
