Carolyn T. Smith's Obituary
Carolyn T. Smith, age 78, of Bridgeville, DE, passed on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. She was born in Wilmington, DE, on Wednesday, May 18, 1938, daughter of the late Ruben Thompson and Myrtle Thompson (Tribbitt).
She graduated from Ridgely High School in 1956 and from Nursing School in Easton MD years later. She worked as a registered nurse for the State of Delaware for 30 years. On July 17, 1976, she married the love of her life, Charles Smith. Mrs. Smith loved dogs and had many golden retrievers in her life. She enjoyed playing the slots, bowling, stock car races and swimming but most of all she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving husband, Charles Smith, of Bridgeville, DE; her children: Richard "Ricky" Short (Brandi) of Greenwood, DE, Troy Smith (Natalie) of Laurel, DE and Tracy Smith (Sandy) of Laurel, DE; her grandchildren: R.C., Amanda, Sami, Alexis, Tyler, Brendan and Raegan; two great-grandchildren; and her siblings: William "Bill" Thompson (Jeanie) of Hartley, DE, Frank Thompson (Delores) of Millsboro, DE, Joe Thompson (Patty) of Denton, MD, James "Jim" Thompson of Easton, MD and Jeanie Laughery of Easton, MD.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 1:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow the services at St. Johnstown Cemetery, PO Box 502, Greenwood, DE.
Friend may also call on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
