Carolyn M. Robinson's Obituary
Carolyn M. Robinson, 79, of Rehoboth Beach and formerly of Millsboro, passed away on December 4, 2024, in Rehoboth.
Carolyn was born in Darby, PA. She earned a Bachelor of Music with honors from the University of Arizona and was a member of SAI Music Honorary. She was the Arizona winner of the San Francisco Opera auditions and a regional winner of the Metropolitan Opera auditions. She lived in Frankfurt, Germany, for two years, where she coached at the Frankfurt Opera.
Carolyn performed leading roles for many years in both community and professional theater groups, including Delaware Children's Theater, Opera Delaware, Lancaster Opera, Candlelight Theater, The Brandywiners, Casa Madrid Dinner Theater, Ventura Symphony, Phoenix Musical Theater, and Clear Space Theater in Rehoboth. As a church cantor, she sang throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Locally, she sang at St. Edmond's Catholic Church and Epworth UMC in Rehoboth, DE.
Carolyn worked for Anderson Clayton in Phoenix, AZ. In Germany, she worked for Rockwell International in communications. She later transitioned into marketing management for MBB Helicopter Corp. in PA and became a Human Resources manager/consultant for 15 years for DuPont, TEVA, and Endo Pharmaceuticals. While working for MBB, she served as an interpreter throughout the U.S. She also traveled to England and France as a global leadership team member for DuPont.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Robinson Jr.; her beloved son, Robert Kovac; her parents, June and Robert Monson; and cousins Robert Wallace III and Joanne Brady.
Carolyn is survived by her grandson, Robin Kovac, of Charlotte, NC; her cousins Margaret Pickering of Kingsport, TN; Ann Wallace and children of Tampa, FL; Andrea Carmenini (Chris) of NYC; Jeffrey Monson (Nancy) of Plano, TX; Audrey Michel (Barry) and children of Benicia, CA; John Brady and family of Plymouth Meeting, PA; and Thomas Brady of Haddonfield, NJ. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Lynne Schurga (Walter) and Lisa Robinson, both of Wilmington, DE.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Brandywine Living at Seaside Pointe for their loving care of Carolyn, and also her former neighbors Diana Miller, Margaret Mayo, and Steve and Nancy Abbruzzi for their many kindnesses and concern for Carolyn.
A visitation will be held on March 21, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
