Carlos Ruiz's Obituary
Carlos Ruiz, age 71, passed away peacefully at home on December 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on January 4, 1954, in Dinamita, Durango, Mexico, to the late Antonio Ruiz and Maria Figueroa. Carlos was a hardworking man throughout his life, dedicating his career to landscaping. He had a true green thumb and found great joy in gardening.
Carlos enjoyed many simple pleasures, including reading, painting, and going for walks. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He always looked forward to the family’s annual vacations to Florida, which he loved dearly.
Carlos was preceded in death by his son, Mark Ruiz, as well as his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gregoria Ruiz; his children, Edward Ruiz, Wendy Rivera (Abraham), and Leslie Ruiz (Usiel Chavez); and his grandchildren, Eli, Ethan, Kyler, Avery, Lucas, and Lee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 202 Edward Street, Georgetown, Delaware. Family and friends may join prior at 10:00 AM for a Rosary. A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE 19947. Eulogies will be offered by the family at 4:00 PM.
Carlos will be remembered for his strong work ethic, gentle spirit, and deep love for his family.
