Carline Varney's Obituary
Carline Myrna Varney, age 84 of Lewes, DE passed away at home in her sleep on Thursday, February 9, 2023. She was born on September 24, 1938, in Washington, DC, daughter of the late John and Carline (Staley) Ratrie.
After graduating High School, Mrs. Varney enjoyed a lengthy career as a hairdresser, retiring after many dedicated years. She had many and varied interest and hobbies, including reading, biking, and roller blading. Mrs. Varney loved everything coastal living had to offer and could often be found taking long walks on the beach, enjoying the serenity of the ocean. She was also a cat lover, and never missed the chance to give them love and care. More than anything, Mrs. Varney enjoyed time spent with those she held most dear. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Loved by many, she will be forever missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Varney was predeceased by her daughter, Vickie, and her grandson, Kenny. She is survived by her son, Albert (Beverly); her grandchildren: Bradley (Julie), Brett (Kamer), Brooke (Danny), Tori, and Talia; and her great grandchildren: Mia, Owen, Dominic, and Anthony.
