Carl Herbert Supplee's Obituary
Carl Herbert Supplee, age 78, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, formerly of East Coventry Twp., PA, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Renaissance Healthcare in Millsboro, DE. He was born May 13, 1930 in Pottstown, PA, son of the late John M. and Blanche H. Supplee.
Mr. Supplee enjoyed a long career as a machinist with Behtlehem Steel in Pottstown and Universal Machine in Stowe, PA. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was past president of the East Coventry Elementary P.T.A.; a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge 254 F. & A.M.; a member of Zion's United Church of Christ, Pottstown; the Lewes Radio Control Airplane Club; American Legion Post 28; and Club 55 Bowling League of Delaware.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Supplee was preceded in death by his brother, John A. Supplee. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Gabel Supplee; four children and five granddaughters: Jeffrey Supplee and his wife Martha Copp of Johnson City, TN, Cynthia Supplee of Shoreview, MN, Linda Miller and her husband Todd and their daughters Stephanie and Abby of Stowe, PA and Mark Supplee and his wife Christine and their daughters Sarah, Hannah and Rachel of Gilbertsville, PA.
A Chapel Service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2009, 2:00 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Carl to be held Saturday, January 24, at Noon, at Zion's United Church of Christ Sunday School Building, Hanover & Chestnut Streets, Pottstown, PA. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Zion's U.C.C., Hanover & Chestnut St.,Pottstown, PA 19464 or to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
