Will never forget the time me and Carl went out fishing about 12 miles out where I could no longer see the shoreline and things started to get a little queasy OK they got a lot queasy but we try to do some trolling for fish instead of stopping, but it did not happen, and all Carl could do was giggle and chuckle all the way back to shore immediately. I think he said I was starting to get a little green tint to my skin but I know he cared a lot about me I will always miss him and be very grateful for what he did for me and the family
So sorry to hear about CB’s passing. Bob and Hope Pritchard
We met Carl - or Mr. Barr as always addressed him - more than a quarter of a century ago when he began caring for our elderly and somewhat recalcitrant plumbing in an old Rehoboth house.( Amazingly, we discovered that Carl's dad had been the plumber for my husband's parents in Dover for many years.) He was great at fixing the plumbing but it was his smile, intelligence, and ready wit that made us feel like he was a friend and part of our life's journey. We were bereft when he retired, as we knew it meant he'd no longer be a part of our lives. That picture says it all and brings back great memories!

Growing up i always felt like i had to tip-toe around him, afraid i'd mess up or do something to irritate him. I've known for some time now that it was just his outer shell. Tough on the outside, and mushy on the inside. He would drop anything at any time if i needed him. My love of the water started really young because of him... driving on the beach, learning to throw cast a net, fishing & line crabbing, and jumping off the side of his boat. It's become a family thing and we will continue to do the things he taught us. Love and miss you daddy! Your little girl always.
I met Carl approximately 15 years ago when I started doing Sandy’s hair. Carl and Sandy took my husband and I under their wings. I have never met such amazing and caring people as Carl and Sandy Barr. We have so many wonderful memories from Florida, especially driving up and down the Everglades and seeing all the alligators and pelicans. Carl and Sandy treated us like their own, and we will never forget all the wonderful memories we have of Carl. He was one of my husbands BEST FRIENDS! They were double trouble when they were together in the same room. We also had wonderful memories in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Rumbley and many delicious lunches in Kent Island.
We will never meet anyone like him or Sandy for as long as we live. We LOVE YOU CARL and you will never be FORGOTTEN!
