Candice H. Jones' Obituary
Candice Healion Jones (Candi) passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the Delaware Hospice in Milford, DE. She was born on October 23, 1950, in Chicago, Ill, daughter of the late William and Patricia (Griffiths) Healion.
When Candi was 4-1/2 years old the family moved to Garden City, NY. When she was 15, they moved to Huntington, NY where Candi graduated from Walt Whitman High School in 1968. After graduation she attended Briarcliff Business School graduating in 1969. Candi enjoyed cooking, traveling, crafting and birds. She had an ongoing battle of wits with the squirrels at her birdfeeders to preserve the special seed mixture she had for the birds she loved so much. Candi particularly loved spending time with her grandchildren Ryan and Ava and baking molasses cookies for them. She had a special place in her heart for granddaughter Kayla. Candi was blessed to have two great-grandchildren, Elijah, and Ava. She adored Dylan, Grace, and Easton as well.
Candi is survived by her husband, John whom she married on September 23, 1992; her daughters: Tonya and Julie (Marc); her stepdaughter, Candice; her five brothers and sisters: Nancy (Geoff), Jeffery (Eileen), Gary (Sue), Ann (Archie), and Christopher; her eighteen nieces and nephews; and her cousins in Chicago: Edward Griffiths (Alice), Gregory Griffiths (Michelle) and Debra Frank (George).
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 01, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 2nd Street, Lewes, DE.
A viewing will be on Monday, February 28, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, DE, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
