C. Edward Donovan's Obituary
C. Edward "Sonny" Donovan, III, Age 68, of Lewes, DE, died peacefully at home on August 10th surrounded by his loving wife and family. He devoted his entire life to his faith and his family. Ed celebrated 40 years of marriage to the love of his life, Grace.
He is survived by his wife, Grace, their 11 children and 13 grandchildren: Veronica Guajardo, her husband Ted and their 5 children: Marisa, Carmen, Alicia, Dominic and Stella; Maureen Smoak, her husband Bryan and their daughter: Ava Carina; Stephanie Ledger, her husband Drew and their 2 children: Shane and Hailey; Teresa Donovan and her son: Michael Capriglione, Jr.; Ryan Donovan, his wife January and their 3 children: Jack Ryan, Pia and Ena; Sean Michael Donovan; Andrea Doherty and her husband, Nick; Sr. Mary Donovan, SHM; Sr. Stacey Donovan, SHM; Caitlin Burak and her husband, Pete; and Suzanne Donovan. Ed is also survived by his sister, Betty Donovan and brother, Robert L. Donovan and his wife, Doris; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Mabel Donovan; his brother, Jim Donovan and sister, Bea Robeson.
Ed retired in 2009 after 37 years with State Farm Insurance Company. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 16th, 11:00 AM, at St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958. Friends may call at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE on Monday, August 15th from 6-8 PM, with recitation of the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet. Burial will be private.
