Brice J. McLane Sr.'s Obituary
Brice J. McLane Sr., age 86, of Lewes, DE, passed away at home on July 6, 2017, surrounded by his wife of 66 years, Agnes, and his sons. He was born in Wilmington, DE on August 24, 1930, son of the late Reba and Rufus McLane.
Brice graduated from P.S. DuPont High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. After his discharge he was selected for two weeks of intensive training at the YMCA and then appointed a Patrolman with the Wilmington Police Department, he retired as a Sergeant in 1975. Brice was a member of Delaware F.O.P. Lodge 1 and the Delaware Association of Police. He was employed by Salesianum School and then Casapulla's South. Brice took great joy in his sons and Grandkids academic and social endeavors. He was a gentleman and a patriot.
In addition to his parents, Brice was predeceased by his son Brice Jr., He is survived by his wife Agnes Desmond McLane; his sons Mark Dennis (Kathryn) of Asheville, NC, Kevin Rufus (Sharon) of Severna Park, MD, and Jeffery Patrick (Carolyn). Pop Pop loved his Grandkids: Mark McCoy (Ann) Dallas, TX, Matthew McCoy (Allison) Newark, DE, Molly Martin (John) Palm Beach, FL, Sean McLane, Salt Lake City UT, Kate McLane NYC, Kevin D. McLane and Lauren C. McLane, Lewes DE; his Great-Grandkids: Chad B. Brown Jr. Severna Park, MD, Violet and Ruby McCoy, Newark, DE, Elsie and Sam McCoy of Dallas, TX, L.J. and Brandon Martin of Palm Beach, FL.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 PM, Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
