Brian William Haws' Obituary
Brian William Haws, age 78, of Ocean View, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Born in Fall River, MA on October 11, 1946, he was the son of the late Blanche A.M. (Ledoux) and Frank M. Haws.
Mr. Haws was a proud graduate of Salesianum High School, where he remained a dedicated supporter throughout his life. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware. Professionally, he worked as a corporate accountant, a career in which he took great pride and integrity.
He served his country honorably in the National Guard and was also a standout softball player. A passionate sports enthusiast, Mr. Haws was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He found joy in watching golf and had a special appreciation for women’s basketball.
Above all, Mr. Haws was a devoted family man. He found his greatest joy in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives, rarely missing a game, recital, or milestone. He took immense pride in their achievements and was their most enthusiastic cheerleader.
He had a sharp wit and a warm, genuine sense of humor that brought laughter to those around him. His kindness, support, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Haws was preceded in death by his beloved son, William "Bill" Haws.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary T. Haws of Ocean View, DE; his daughter, Kimberly Gordon of Millsboro, DE; his son, Joseph M. Haws of Dagsboro, DE; and his cherished grandchildren: Cael Brian Gordon, Sianleigh Gordon, and Erin Gordon, all of Millsboro, DE; Russell J. Haws and Rebecca J. Haws of Townsend, DE; and Gabrielle Haws of Bear, DE. He is also survived by his sister, Paulette Haws of Smyrna, DE, as well as numerous cousins in Massachusetts.
