Bonnie Sue Foster's Obituary
Bonnie S. Foster, age 99 of Lewes, DE passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Brandywine Senior Living in Rehoboth Beach, DE. She was born on January 4, 1920 in Cleveland, TN, daughter of the late Edmund and Bessie (Nipper) Elkins.
Mrs. Foster was a wonderful cook and loved to spend time with all of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her earlier years, she was an outstanding high school athlete, where she excelled in basketball and was named to the All State team. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lewes, and had worked for years at Fox’s on 2nd St. in Lewes, which later became Mitchell’s. Mrs. Foster also enjoyed her yearly travels back home to Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her husband Vernon J. Foster, and two brothers, Ed Elkins, Jr. and Roy Elkins. She is survived by 3 daughters, Linda (Robert) Quigley of Lewes, Carolyn (Charles) Martin of Lewes, and Janice Caras of Lewes. Grandchildren: Mike Quigley of Lewes; Steve (Jackie) Quigley of Georgetown; Kimberly Martin of Rehoboth Beach; Kelly (Charlie) Stanislav of Lewes; Christi Caras of Sacramento, CA; and Jennifer Caras of Millsboro. 11 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27 at 11:00 AM at the Parsell Funeral Home and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, with a viewing at the funeral home prior to the service at 10:00 AM.Interment will follow the funeral service at Henlopen Memorial Park, 28787 Lockerman Rd., Milton, DE 19968.
