Bonnie Insley Allison's Obituary
Bonnie Insley Allison, age 78 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on March 16, 2022, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, in Lewes. She was born on January 18, 1944, in Marshallton, DE, daughter of the late Luther and Elaine (George) Insley.
A graduate of both Padua Academy and Wilmington School of Charm and Modeling, Mrs. Allison also attended Goldey-Beacom Junior College. She began a career with the DuPont Company in clerical and secretarial roles, leaving the workforce to raise her family, the job she would find most fulfilling. After her children were older, Mrs. Allison returned to work as a teacher’s aide at Covenant Church Preschool, in Bellefonte, DE, and after a number of years, found her “home” at Holy Rosary School, as a kindergarten teacher’s aide.
Mrs. Allison had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed bowling, relaxing on the beach, and meeting adults she had once nurtured as children in preschool. Mrs. Allison’s greatest joy was found raising her sons and spending time with her four adored grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Loved by all who knew her, she will be deeply and genuinely missed.
Mrs. Allison is survived by her beloved husband, Ernest M. Allison of Rehoboth Beach, DE; her sons: Stephen J. Allison and family of Dillsburg, PA, and Jonathan P. Allison and family of Bryn Mawr, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or www.stjude.org.
